Java Software Engineer

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Java Software Engineer at Maliroso Digital in Abuja, F.C.T, with flexibility for remote work. The Java Software Engineer will be responsible for software development, working with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Apache Struts for building robust and scalable backend applications. A strong understanding of RESTful web services, gRPC, and API design principles is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and related frameworks.
- Framework Expertise: Utilize Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Apache Struts to build scalable applications.
- API Development: Implement RESTful web services and gRPC for seamless backend communication.
- Testing: Apply software testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with development teams, testers, and other stakeholders.
- Software Architecture: Apply design patterns and principles for building maintainable backend systems.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot issues in a timely manner to ensure smooth application performance.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of software components and system architecture.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency in Java programming and software development best practices.
- Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Struts.
- Understanding of software architecture principles and scalable backend design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in Agile methodologies and collaborative teamwork.
- Familiarity with API development, gRPC, and RESTful web services.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- 3+ years of experience with JavaScript and API development.
